Corporate governance is increasingly focused on transparency between the technicalities of sampling assays and reconciliation with financial performance.

The Metal Accounting and Reconciliation Project targets a generalised metal accounting and reconciliation model to bring together these technical and financial cultures and improve the reliability of metal accounting.

This will involve recommendations on the technical aspects (sampling, measurement etc), and a model structure incorporating the required techniques of data processing and analysis.

The development of the Code is being accelerated and mining companies are invited to join the project to have their own procedures recognised by inclusion in the new Code.
